How do I use Oxygen Brightener with my laundry?
Oxygen Brightener whitens whites, removes stains, is color safe, and works to remove sweat odors. Do not use on wool, wool blends, silk, silk blends, leather or on fabrics labeled dry-clean only.
We’re often asked how much Oxygen Brightener should be used while doing laundry. The answer? It depends on what you are trying to achieve!
There are two common methods to consider when using Oxygen Brightener.
Laundry Boost – Add directly to the drum of your washing machine before adding your clothing.
Pre-Soak – Some items are best left to soak in an Oxygen Brightener solution. Create using ¼ cup of Oxygen Brightener to 1 gallon of water. Or, for smaller items 1 tbsp. of Oxygen Brightener for every 5 cups of water.
Just soaking a cloth paper towel? Try 1 tsp. for 2 cups of water.
4 Tips for Best Results
- Use hot or warm water to dissolve the Oxygen Brightener.
- Do not allow the Oxygen Brightener to dry on surfaces before you’ve thoroughly rinsed the area.
- Only mix enough solution for the job at hand. These solutions do not do well when stored as they lose their potency over a short period of time.
- Do not place Oxygen Brightener solutions in sealed containers (especially glass containers) as the reaction between the sodium percarbonate and water releases a gas. Built-up gas in containers can be dangerous.
