How to use as a laundry booster:

  1. Scoop 1/2 tablespoon for HE washing machines or 1 tablespoon for standard washing machines.
  2. Add oxygen powder directly to the drum before adding clothes.
  3. Wash as normal. Powder dissolves in hot or cold water and is color safe. Do not use with wool or silk. Do not use with septic systems.

How to use as an oxygen cleaner:

  1. Fill a bucket with a measured amount of warm water. Use only as much as needed, as solution does not store well.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of powder for every 8–16 oz. of water, or 1/4 cup of powder for every gallon. Allow powder to dissolve fully.
  3. Use solution to clean surfaces and soak objects. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Rinse surfaces thoroughly after use.

See full usage instructions below.

  • Do not use with septic systems.
  • Do not mix with other chemicals such as chlorine or ammonia.
  • Contains sodium percabonate, which may irritate eyes or skin.
  • In case of eye contact, rinse with water for 15 minutes.
  • In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water.
  • If ingested, drink plenty of water to dilute, and do not induce vomiting.

Our Oxygen Brightener is a bleach alternative that acts as both a laundry booster and an oxygen cleaner. Use it to cut through tough stains and persistent odors.

We use only what you need to clean your clothes and your home: an unscented powder made from sodium percarbonate and washing soda.

All of our ingredients are MADE SAFE® Certified, Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free, and vegan. We list every ingredient, including scents, on the front label so you can see what’s in your detergent.

Our plastic-free oxygen powder is packaged in a paper and steel canister. The canister is designed to be reused with our low-waste Oxygen Brightener refill bags and is fully recyclable.

Net wt. 32 oz. (907 g). Contains 128 HE (64 Standard) loads.

Oxygen Brightener is a bleach alternative that acts as both a laundry booster and an oxygen cleaner. This color-safe product brightens, whitens, and deodorizes your clothes by removing the dinginess and build-up that accumulates over time and reviving fabrics to their original vibrancy. It is also a powerful oxidizer, making it an effective cleaner and sanitizer for tough stains around the house.

For laundry that needs a boost to remove stains and sweat odors, add Oxygen Brightener alongside our Laundry Powder. For a full load of laundry, we recommend using up to half a tablespoon of Oxygen Brightener in a high-efficiency (HE) washer and up to one tablespoon in a standard washer. For large or extra dirty loads of laundry, double the amount of Laundry Powder.

Many washing machines are designed for liquid laundry boosters rather than powders. We suggest adding oxygen powder directly to the drum before adding the dirty clothes to the machine. This ensures the powder dissolves adequately.

Less is more. For loads that are less than full, you can decrease the amount of powder you use. Though it may seem counterintuitive, too much laundry booster can make clothes feel unclean. Excess powder can get caught in clothes and washing machines, resulting in build-up and causing unwanted odors and dinginess.

Oxygen Brightener is not compatible with natural protein-based fibers, such as wool and silk, or with septic systems.

For home cleaning, Oxygen Brightener can be mixed with water to create a concentrated paste or a multi-purpose liquid solution.

To create a paste, mix a 1:1 ratio of powder and water, such as 1 tablespoon of each. The paste can be applied directly to tough stains and used as a scrub. This is an effective way to clean grout, tiles, and other hard surfaces.

To create a liquid solution, fill a bucket or similar container with as much warm water as you will need, typically between 8 oz. and 1 gallon. Do not place solution in sealed containers, as the reaction between sodium percarbonate and water releases gas.

Measure out an appropriate amount of powder for the amount of water and the desired strength of the solution. We recommend 1 tablespoon for every 8–16 oz. of water and 1/4–1/2 a cup for a gallon of water. More concentrated solutions will be more effective at neutralizing powerful odors, such as from used sports gear or trash cans. Less concentrated solutions should be sufficient to remove dirt and grime from most surfaces, including mugs, kettles, and more.

The mixed solution can be used as a general cleaner with a rag or scrub brush. You can also soak objects in the solution to remove stubborn stains and odors. Thoroughly rinse any object or surface with cool water after cleaning with Oxygen Brightener.

Do not mix Oxygen Brightener with other chemicals, including chlorine and ammonia. Sodium percarbonate may irritate eyes and skin. In case of eye contact, rinse with water for 15 minutes. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If ingested, drink plenty of water to dilute, and do not induce vomiting.

Before washing, pre-treat stains before washing with our Soap Stick Stain Remover. Simply wet the fabric and rub the soap stick onto the stained area, then wash as usual. The friction caused by rubbing a solid soap on the fabric adds to its effectiveness in removing stains. The sooner you are able to treat and wash the stain, the better the results. Please do not put your clothing in the dryer until the stain is gone, or else it might become more stubborn to treat.

Ingredient disclosure and transparency is the cornerstone of our business. We list every ingredient on the front label of each product and here on our website. Our Ingredients page lists the technical name, chemical identification (CAS number), country of origin, and additional details for every ingredient we use.

You'll never see the word "fragrance" on our ingredient labels. This catch-all term allows companies to hide ingredients that are potentially harmful to the health of people and the planet. In the US, hundreds of ingredients in the "fragrance" family have never been tested for their impact. Every product is available in an unscented base formula. We also offer products scented with organic essential oils.

Sodium Carbonate Peroxide, also known as sodium percarbonate, is an oxidizing agent. When added to water, it'll break up organic compounds on fabrics and solid surfaces alike. It’s a sustainable, eco-friendly bleach alternative that can clean and whiten everything from laundry whites to coffee mugs. A true multi-purpose home cleaning booster without exposing your family to harmful chemicals.

Sodium Carbonate, also known as washing soda or soda ash, is a pH adjuster. It raises the pH of the washing water, which results in more effective cleaning. For this reason, it's often referred to as a laundry booster.

LOVE ❤️ THE CHEMICAL-FREE PLASTIC-FREE CLEANING!

True confession: I was addicted to all of those scents in other detergents and detergent boosters. It took me a while to adjust to scent-free laundry. My son is a smoker and he finishes furniture for a living. He’s also an avid outdoorsman hiking and rock climbing regularly. His clothes are saturated with dust, dirt, cigarette smoke and sometimes paint. His clothes needed a little extra help so I was using several ‘extras’ to make his clothes smell clean. But it started to worry me that I had no idea what was in all of those products. Now I finally feel like I’m doing the best thing for my family by washing their clothes and bedding in Meliora products! No chemicals and no plastics…sadly that’s a hard thing to find today. I’m grateful I found Meliora!

Great for multiple uses

These days, any time I’m at a loss for how to clean something, I reach for this stuff. Just yesterday I forgot some beets on the stovetop and they burned caramelized goo all over a saucepan - a tbsp of oxy brightener and five minutes of soaking and it was good as new. I have a baby and a 4 year old whose clothes are regularly disgusting and this stuff cleans them well. It’s even good for removing label residue from toys.
